Dr. Suva Kanta Mohanty is the Director of VAMNICOM (Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management), an apex national institute under the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India focused on cooperative management education, training, research, and consultancy.

Dr. Mohanty holds a PhD in Applied Economics and Marketing from the University of Reading, UK. He was awarded the prestigious GRiSP scholarship by the CGIAR system. He studied MBA at the University of Wisconsin in the United States and Materials Management at the Stuttgart, Germany.

Prior to his appointment at VAMNICOM, he was the Director of KIIT School of Management, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. He was also HDFC Chair, Associate Professor, Chairperson of Marketing Department, and Associate Dean at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). His research interests include retailing, consumer behaviour, services marketing, and cooperative sector development.

As the Director, Dr. Mohanty leads institutional strategy for cooperative management education, training programmes, research initiatives, international collaborations, and capacity-building efforts for cooperatives across India and abroad.

Under his leadership, VAMNICOM has signed MoUs with national and international partners to strengthen cooperative education, gender-inclusive enterprises, and capacity development.

He has actively represented VAMNICOM in international cooperative development forums, including events organized jointly with entities like the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO), focusing on digitalisation and institutional capacity building for cooperatives.

Dr. Mohanty also serves as Director of CICTAB (Centre for International Cooperation and Training in Agricultural Banking), an institution located within the VAMNICOM campus that works on cooperative banking training and international capacity building.

Experience:

Dr. Dhananjay F. Munde is an academician and researcher in Commerce and Management with over 14 years of experience in teaching, training, and consultancy. He completed his B.Com. from Ness Wadia College of Commerce and M.Com. from the Department of Commerce, Savitribai Phule Pune University. He has qualified UGC-NET and SET in Commerce and also holds the Government Diploma in Cooperation and Accountancy (GDCA). He earned his Ph.D. in 2023 from YCMOU, Nashik for his research on the impact of consumer ethnocentrism and brand equity on buying intentions toward personal healthcare products in Maharashtra.

Dr. Munde has extensive experience in academic teaching, vocational and skill development, NCCT training, and industry-linked education, including exposure to Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. He has provided consultancy and professional training to cooperative banks in NPA management, taxation compliance, TDS and online ITR filing, and GST using Tally and related systems.

He has developed MOOCs for the SWAYAM and Mahadnyandeep platforms and holds a patent in consumer behaviour. He has authored several research publications in Commerce, Management, and Cooperation and actively participates in national academic forums. He has delivered invited lectures at colleges, universities, and professional bodies. His key areas of interest include Commerce and Management, skill development, research methodology, training needs analysis (TNA), and core banking systems.
