Sir has assumed charge as the Director of the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM), Pune. He is a distinguished academician with over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership,
Dr. Mohanty holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics and Marketing from the University of Reading, United Kingdom, awarded under the prestigious GRiSP scholarship by the CGIAR. He brings a global academic outlook, having undertaken teaching and research assignments both in India and the United States, enriching his perspective on international pedagogical and research practices.
He has held several key academic and administrative positions at IRMA, including HDFC Chair Professor, Associate Professor, Chairperson of the Marketing Area, and Associate Dean. His research interests encompass retailing, consumer behaviour, and services marketing, positioning him to contribute meaningfully to the evolving landscape of cooperative management education and research at VAMNICOM.
He also holds additional responsibilities as Director of CICTAB and ICM, Pune
Qualification: B.Sc.(Electronics), M.C.M., CTFC (BIRD LUCKNOW), Ph.D
Experience: Graduated in Electronics from Shivaji University Kolhapur, Dr. Divekar holds Masters Degree in Computer Management from the same university. He completed his Doctoral Research on topic “Impact of Core Banking System implementation on Business Performance and Profitability of Urban Cooperative Banks from Pune City” from University of Pune and was awarded Ph.D in year 2013. He holds total experience of over 25 years in the field of Information Technology (IT) which includes 22 years of academic experience, besides experience of IT consulting, Management Information Systems (MIS), IT infrastructure management, Software development. He has provided consultancy to Cooperative Banks for automation projects, especially for Core Banking System implementation. He has several publications to his credit in English and Hindi on the subject of IT implementation in cooperatives. ERP, Core Banking System, Business Intelligence are his are of interest.
